Let's talk in English! (beszélgetés)
this is just so true!
conversations labelled "every day talk" in grammar books ..are just light years away from what it's really like when brits begin to talk :]
thanks, sorry:)
oh, i'm looking your photos, Holly. you became really pretty! you have got a beautiful family, congratulations! what tiny was her daughter, when she was a new-born baby! she is so sweet.
Well, to tell you the truth: we never use the shall we... version only with people we don't know very well. If it's a family member I just ask:
1. Do you need a hand?
2. Do you need any help?
3. Do you want me to help you
As you see, no "can", no "shall".
Hi there,
let me give you an advice: keep it simple :)
You could use "skill" instead of "acquaintance"
English people would never use something this long and difficult word unless they have to :D They have pretty simple conversations as a matter of fact. If they can tell you something with 6 words *or 30 caracter* no way they are going to use more just to seem smart.
Here is a good example:
In school they teach you that a convo starts like this:
A: How are you?
B: Fine, thanks. How are you?
A: I'm okay.
Now here is how it happens in the town I'm from:
A: You're allright.
B: Not bad, not bad.
thans:)
if somebody would like to ask help from one of his friends, or a family-member, can he uses that? is there some difference between that, and this; "shall" ?
we ususally say:
"Do you need a hand?"
Or if you ask for help: "Give me a hand, please!"
my from is diósd-city:D
i would like to pick up a medium, good english knowledge, because i would like to work in overseas, and to develop my language acquaintance.
and, what about you?:)
I'm reading The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. It's a very fascinating play.
Where are you from? Why do you want to learn English?
welcome!XXX
what are you doing today?:)
Hi!
May I join you? This is also a good opportunity for me to improve my English skills.
thanks:)
how are you? if you have a taste for that, write down, how are you spending this day! i ask that from everyone.:)
XXX
Shall I...?
Shall I do it for you?
That's not true. The difficultíy of a language depends on e.g. the number and length of words, the difficulty of conjugation, inflections, exceptions, etc...
E.g. Esperanto is a very simple (artificial) language, it was created to be very easy to learn.
Mandarin Chinese is the most difficult.
yes, but i, whos mother language is hungarian, can't understand that, because i always think that, how can difficult a language, which has just three tenses, to somebody, who use twelve tenses every day. in spite of this, i see that, hungarian has a lot of complicated expressions, and this is much more copius language, i believe.
my stranger familiars often say that, in hungarian one of the most difficult things is the conjugation, because in hungarian inflections there are after verbs, and there are subjective and trans conjugation. i understand that, because i learn italian too, and in this there are different conjugation too, and i can't learn these, in spite of that, italian much more similar to hungarian, than english.
A melléknevet (interesting) a "more"-ral fokozod, az már mindegy, hogy a fokozott mnév elé mit teszel, attól függ, mit akarsz mondani.
a bit more interesting
much/a lot more interesting
Not a bit more, a lot more!!!:)
According to linguists Hungarian is the second most difficult language in the world.
English is really very simple, one of the easiest languages.
